Jack Whitton has developed significantly whilst completing his apprenticeship at South Worcestershire College, he has become a major asset to our business for the reasons summarised below.

Technical knowledge

Jack’s technical knowledge has dramatically improved throughout the course, but more importantly his desire to ensure that every job entering the workshop is carried out professionally and correctly has had a significant effect on the whole workshop team and the business as a whole. He supervises and encourages
the younger less experienced staff enabling them to make a much greater contribution to the work. He has also developed the character to be able to help and motivate some of the older team members particularly when introducing new practices, such as IT and admin changes.

In more recent times his attendance at college has helped develop his business acumen causing him to continually question and review our working processes and practices, a great asset to our business striving to continually appraise and improve what we do.

Customer service

In this day of automated on line sales and service F N Pile and Sons strive to remain focused on great customer care handled on an individual basis. Customer interaction on this level can be challenging.
Jack has significantly developed in this area and is now a very valuable asset to our business. This is due to his friendly, can do attitude towards each customer and his technical ability to resolve the issues they have with their garden machinery. As such, he has gained the respect of customers across our very diverse customer base.

Initiative and positive attitude

In recent months Jack’s attitude to be more involved in the whole business has increased. He is keen to improve his knowledge of all aspects of the business outside of the workshop, and effectively help improve the profitability of the whole business.
