Last Wednesday marked the 1st day of my reigning Apprenticeship Ambassador duties with some promotional filming from my personal experiences and from my employer, The Replacement Service, into the benefits of work placements and the apprenticeship schemes.

Personally, I decided to enroll in a work experience placement due to the fact I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WANTED TO DO. Being the youngest of four siblings, whom had excelled at University andIMG_5019 even went on to do Masters, there felt a pressure to live up to their high expectations. So massive thanks to Justin, Matthew and Natasha. It’s always a struggle being at school knowing where you want to go (Originally I was accepted onto an undergraduate degree for Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage… Now I work within the Insurance sector. Point proven!). Teachers try to supply information to help make informed decisions and arrange external parties to deliver talks which can help but experience and getting into the working environment grows an understanding of what young professionals like and dislike. Those who are unsure, work placements really are beneficial and it is a great learning curve for employers to shape what they would like they future work force to look like.

Working with Fix 8 Films and CSAB, my Wednesday afternoon and the TRS office had turned into a Hollywood set with an invasion of cameras, microphones, lighting equipment and a directors team. The photographs and short snippets of interviews of myself and my boss, James Hyslop are to released in social media campaigns.
