Worcestershire Training Providers Association (WTPA) has been commissioned by Worcestershire LEP to deliver a School Engagement Programme across the county.

The programme is focused on delivering Impartial Information, Advice and Guidance to young people regarding Apprenticeships and the variety of local opportunities available.

The delivery meets the statutory guidance for schools which states:

‘The governing body must ensure that the independent careers guidance provided is presented in an impartial manner and Includes information on the range of education or training options, including Apprenticeships and other vocational pathways’

Nearly all schools in Worcestershire are engaged with the programme and a variety of activities are being delivered to year 9 to year 13 students (aged 13 to 18)

From Year group assemblies to parent workshops, staff training, STEM workshops the programme is flexible and designed to meet the local schools needs.

Young people are shown live vacancies’ and case studies and given information about the local training provider network.

This programme has been designed to work in conjunction with providers current school marketing activities but to enhance Apprenticeship recruitment and is seen as a valuable benefit to members.

Since March 2015 we have spoken to nearly 3000 students.
